Soundsystem
The OEM sound system was not
'the
real thing' for me. Furthermore, I was quite disappointed that this high-tech car was
only deliverable with Radio/Tape (who is still listening to tapes nowadays?). As an
option an overpriced CD changer using up a lot of valuable space
in the trunk was available.
I decided to install the parts of my previous car - not the latest stuff but
still good enough for powerful sound. The dash controls are out of function now,
however, I never deemed them very useful. some
installing
tips...
Radio/
CD: JVC
KD-03800R, 4x22 W
Amplifier:
Titan 400, 2x200 W
Loudspeakers: Pioneer 3 way-speakers,
2x160 W
Tweeters:
2x150 W

... and also solved the problem of the missing clock

There's a lot of unused space next to the spare wheel

I
tested the sound of the tweeters in many positions, especially a fit into the
doors would have been the perfect optical solution.
However, the truly best sound quality can only been achieved when the tweeters
directly face your ears.
Therefore, I decided to mount them under the dashboard.
